Too Real for the Algorithm: LA’s Deathrock band Shrouds Brings Deathrock to WGT

Wave-Gotik Treffen in Leipzig, Germany starts Friday, June 6th, through Monday, June 9th! We have yet to be able to attend, but this year, many of us are excited to see that a lot of our Los Angeles local bands are playing. We have many friends attending this year's WGT.

We are keeping this article short and sweet. We are here to talk about our local Deathrock band, Shrouds, which has been active for a decade (maybe a little over a decade). Shrouds is DIY AF and Deathrock AF. If you get to see them at WGT they have DIY totes that they have handmade for those who want one. To be honest, we know they will run out of totes and all their merch. Shrouds does Shrouds -- they don't ask to be booked, people offer to book them, they don't ask for mentions in articles, posts or whatever -- if it happens, it will always happen naturally. Just like it is happening right now as I write this! They don't care about blurbs written for clicks, Or as Grimm Beatz said, "Only real posers know who we are." If you don't get that, it's okay, take it as you wish. It's a whole ass vibe, life's too short to be so serious. Shrouds is bringing raw, uncompromising DEATHROCK straight to Leipzig, and no PR fluff is required. While some platforms gatekeep with algorithms and pay-to-play features, Shrouds does what they’ve always done: show up with the riffs, a drummer who sometimes drums blindfolded, and that hard ass bass, and make it undeniably deathrock af.

Shrouds plays at the Täubchenthal at 17:50 on Saturday, June 7th! If you are at WGT I don't think we need to recommend you go, as we know Shrouds is loved worldwide and many people are excited to see them! But Ya'll should go if you are attending WGT, especially if you have not seen them. 10/10 recommend if you like Deathrock!
